About Alex

In 2016, Aleksander Antoszczyszyn – known as Alex – spent a year apprenticing with Ed Fulawka, learning the art of creating handcrafted Fulawka steel pedal guitars.

A Toronto-native, now living near Midland, Ontario, Alex is no stranger to the music world. He’s an accomplished jazz saxophonist, playing with jazz bands across Canada and the US.

His love of music started early – he started playing clarinet in high school, before moving onto the saxophone. Over the years, he spent his time balancing out a career at CN Rail with side gigs with jazz bands.

With exposure to so many musical instruments and a natural ability to fix things, Alex picked up the skills to not only repair and service musical instruments but also build them. It was the perfect blend of music and crafting skills that attracted Alex to working with Ed Fulawka.

After Ed’s passing, Alex inherited the Fulawka Steel Guitar business and officially re-launched it in early 2020.
