Fulawka Guitars History

Fulawka Steel Guitars have been gracing small and large music hall stages and stadiums across the world since the 1950s.

The Fulawka Guitars history starts from a desire to recreate a sound. Ed’s passion and dedication to perfecting the finest handmade steel guitars span decades.

  • 1950 – Ed Fulawka begins modifying an 8-string guitar to imitate the sound he heard on a Webb Pierce song.
  • 1953 – Ed makes his first hand-made steel pedal guitar

  • 1978 – After retiring from Massey Ferguson, Ed begins making steel guitars full-time. Each guitar is hand-built including hand-winding the pick-ups, painting, and finishing.
  • 2016 – Ed brings Alex Antoszczyszyn on as an apprentice, to learn the art of creating handcrafted steel pedal guitars. They build a steel guitar together.
  • 2017 – Ed passes away at the age of 88.
  • 2020 – Alex relaunches the business as Fulawka Legacy Guitars.

Fulawka Guitars History Continues
